He was the husband of June (Lytle) Waltzer.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Fan (Levin) Waltzer and Sam Waltzer.

Dr. Waltzer graduated from the University of Pennsylavania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1944 and then went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1949, where he became an Opthalmologist.

From 1949 to 1951, Dr. Waltzer did his residency at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Between 1951 and 1953, during the Korean Conflict, Dr. Waltzer was in the U.S. Army with the Medical Corps. He served in Germany with the 28th Division.

In 1957, He joined the Opthalmology staff at Abington Memorial Hospital where he remained until his retirement in 1989.  During this time he had an office at Old York and Keith roads in Abington.  He was also a consultant to several nursing homes in the area.

From the 1950's until 1989, Dr. Waltzer was a member of the American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, the College of Physicians, and the Medical Club of Philadelphia.

In June, 1999 Dr. Waltzer was honored as a fifty year member of the Montgomery County Medical Society.  He was also an Honored Member of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains in Philadelphia where he claimed recognition in 1985.

He served as a director and was a former president of the Old York Road Community Concerts and was a volunteer for Jewish Family Services until recently.

Among his many interests, Dr. Waltzer enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, classical music at the Philadelphia Orchestra and the opera.   He was also an avid reader and sports fan.

In addition to his wife, June, he is survived by three sons, Brad Waltzer of Port Royal, Pa., Greg Waltzer of Bridgewater, N.J., and Jeff Waltzer of Laurel, Md.; two daughters, Gail Waltzer of Juneau, Alaska and Joy Waltzer Price of Brookville, Md.; and four grand-children.
